NASCAR: Daytona 500

This is it the big race, the big one, the one that fans have been waiting to see and it is at the start of the season. I have never figured that one out. I am not a fan NASCAR for those of you who do not know but I have been dying to figure out why it is so loved nation wide.

I am going to a NASCAR party and we are going to put a bet on our favorite racer, but since I am not a fan of the sport (can I call it that?) I set out to ask a few friends who follow it religiously to see who I could find to place a bet on.


First of all I am not a favorite bettor so right away for pure value and drama; I will not take Jeff Gordon, Earnhardt Jr., or Tony Stewart.

So who is left?

I talked to a friend who has a sister who had a baby who they named after Jeremy Mayfield. (No lie) So I looked at the odds and I saw that he is +7000 so I figured what the heck, I’ll take a shot on him.

I wanted more than one racer and figured I would go with two so up next I went to the odds board. I erased the top three favorites but they are up there because they are good so I figured why not take the next best one? According to the odds it’s Jimmie Johnson so I added him.

Johnson +800
