This is the time of the year where losing teams face the dog days of summer and the Marlins are going through that phase right now. They can’t put any solid wins together and they have the worst pitcher in the rotation going tonight. The cardinals on the other hand are making a run for the pennant and every win is important for them. They win big tonight.

When FLORIDA team Played as Road team as a Underdog - Vs NL Conference - Vs. Right handed pitchers - Coming off a Loss vs. NL CENTRAL opponent - Coming off vs. Right handed pitcher they are 22-41

When ST LOUIS team Played as Home team as a Favorite - Vs Conference Opponent - Vs. Right handed pitchers - Coming off a Home win as a Favorite - Coming off a Home win they are 63-39

In the NFL I am going to look at the game between the Jaguars and the Packers. The third week of the preseason is always a good one because the starters begin to play a bit deeper into the game than in previous weeks.



Jags -2.5

This to me is a simple play and the fact that the jags have announced they will play the starters deep and the Packers have not gives an edge to the Jags.

Jacksonville is 10-2 against the spread on the road when the 'total' is 35 1/2 to 42 and it has cashed 10 of 12 off a double-digit victory, including six of seven away from home. The Jaguars are also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road outings.

These are the kind of angles you want to take advantage of in the pre-season and I look to do it tonight.
