Tuesday MLB

Sox Vs Angels: A report came out that Lackey is in some trouble with arm
fatigue but what kind of factor will it be tonight.

""""Marathoners have the "wall." Pitchers have the "dead-arm"
phase.

"I think most guys go through it," Angels pitching coach Mike
Butcher said. "Even position players … Even coaches. Some times it lasts six or
nine months for us.

"Basically, your velocity is going to be there. It
might be off a tick or two but your command isn't as good. It's a feel thing and
that feel just isn't there. Your arm kind of feels like a wet noodle. … You just
kind of grind it out. Most guys have an idea when they're going to get
it."

John Lackey has an idea — now.

"It usually happens for me
around the 100-inning mark," Lackey said. "It's just my 100 innings happened a
little later than usual."

Since spending the first six weeks of the
season on the disabled list with a triceps strain, Lackey has thrown 921/3
innings in 13 starts. His first nine starts were outstanding — 6-1 with a 1.44
ERA, seven innings or more in all nine, two runs or fewer in eight of the
nine.

In his past four games, Lackey is 2-1 but he has a 7.61 ERA with 36
hits allowed in 232/3 innings. He has pitched seven innings just once and given
up three runs or more in all four starts.

He gave up 15 hits in a
no-decision at Texas and six runs in a victory over the Cleveland Indians, the
most he has allowed in any of his 77 career victories.

Lackey
acknowledged dead arm is "maybe a little bit" of a factor in the recent change
in his numbers. But he chafes at any deeper analysis.

"I don't know,
man," he said. "I don't have any excuses. I just didn't pitch that well. I don't
know what you want me to say. You either get it done or you don't. People
analyze that stuff too much.""""""

I look for a new look by Lackey and looking for this one to go under the
total.

UNDER 9.5 -125

Orioles +155 and the Over 10.5 +105

The O's are whacking the ball and the Yankees don't have the pitching to stop
it, worst case the Yanks hammer Cabrera and the split rolls in here.

Pittsburgh Pirates +118

What a steal getting this home team at dog money, the Rockies stink and fall
down on the road and do it agian tonight. Play On
Home
teams when the money line is +125 to -125 (PITTSBURGH)
with an overused
bullpen that pitches more than 3.2 innings per game, with a cold starting
pitcher- ERA >= 7.50 over his last 3 starts

276-199 since
1997.
58.1% (82.0 units)

Florida +120

Steal number 2-Florida is the better team here and they may not have the
better picther but that Mets bullpen can blow up at anytime!
Play On
Home teams (FLORIDA)
cold hitting team
- batting .240 or worse over their last 15 games against opponent with a hot
starting pitcher- ERA less than 2.50 over his last 3
starts

138-95 over the last 5
seasons.
59.2% (49.3 units)

Cleveland +113

They are just playing good baseball and a home dog is hard to pass up!

Play Against
Road
favorites with a money line of -110 or higher (DETROIT)
with a bad
bullpen that blows 38% or more of their save opportunities, starting a pitcher
who walked <=1 hitters each of his last 2 outings

107-85 since
1997.
55.7% (50.3 units)
