Looking at today’s card there are plenty of chances for road teams to get the sweep over home teams, so the question is who will stand up and who will fall down and get swept? In the early games Florida, Atlanta, New York, and Cincinnati are trying to avoid sweeps.
Best Chance of getting swept:
Reds: Duke is no gem and has had some struggles this year but the Bucs are playing much better baseball and getting production from the middle of the lineup and hitting with runners in scoring position.
Pittsburgh +124
Best Chance of avoiding the sweep
Yankees -138
Mussina has not pitched great this year either but if anyone ever defends home turf and would take getting swept personally it’s the Bronx bombers. Lackey is 0-2 in day games this year and the halos have lost his last two starts in the Bronx. Hate to lay the juice but I like the Yankees here.
Adding:
Over 8.5 -115 TB/CWS
Wind is blowing out and I have a sweet over umpire to make this go over the total.
Tampa Bay +140
Will take Kaz any day at this price and looking for Tampa to give him plenty of run support.
The phillies are playing some great baseball and have their best pitcher on the hill at a decent price. Davies is off a rough start and to me the worst starter on this club. If not for Renteria’s play this entire team is in a funk and even Bobby Cox has gotten thrown out the last two games so he doesn’t have to watch it.
Philly -129 and -1.5 +120
